Moving topics and users from different software

I currently us phpBB2 and would like to move to vButtetin if at all possible. But I would like to know if it is possible to transfer the topics, posts, users, and their information (avatars and whatever) over to the new software? I know the data for these things resides in a MySQL database, but is it possible to translate this to vBulletin board? Thanks for any reponses!
