I recently upgraded my forums from phpBB to Invision (which was a huge advancement in security and quality/features) ... and now I am looking at VBulletin. I like the multiple calendars and better ranged events in VB.

1. I looked at the VB Admin demo and could not find where I can limit HTML posting to Admins only. With Invision, you set HTML in the forum and then assign authority to use it in the User Group. In VB, I could only find a switch in the forum settings ... is there a way to limit this to just certain User Groups? I want to be able to post HTML in a forum while not allowing others.

2. Can the BBCode IMG tag have size (width/thumbnail) restrictions so that the post view table is not broken?

3. Is conversion of database from Invision 1.3.1 to VB painless?

Thanks!

1. there is no option for this html can either be enabled for everyone or no one, but it can be changed with a hack from vBulletin.org

2. Not by default, but you could modifiy the code to do so, if you just have users attach the image and you have GD support it will thumbnail images for you

3. As far as i know, for the most part :)

Personally, I prefer Invision, but it really all depends on your needs.

I don't know if you should change your BB system again after changing it from phpBB to Invision.

I think you should wait to see what Invision Power Board 2.0 is like before you make your decision...
