I wholeheartedly recommend A Small Orange (http://www.asmallorange.com). In relocating my forums, the primary considerations were a seamless transition and minimum downtime. With Tim Dorr's personal assistance (at no extra charge), we were able to make the move very quickly.
In addition to the outstanding service we've received, the server loads are much lower now, and the forums are noticeably faster. This is what hosting is supposed to be like.
Two thumbs up for A Small Orange (http://www.asmallorange.com).

I have never heard of them, but I will keep it in mind that there is another hosting company that seems to be handling forums quite well.

Deals seem good. I'm going to enquire on their forums. Is there anyone thats been disappointed with their services or support? I'm only hearing good things.. Makes me suspicious ;)

Omg, I got my site activated within minutes. Then I sent in a ticket to enable SSH access and no sooner than I check my mail theres an email from them saying it's been enabled.

Thanks for the compliments guys :)
Floris: This is a new branding for the company, so that may be why you haven't heard of us (we opened up in March, but have been around since last year). And I believe we're handling forums well, as we have a few vB boards hosted with a large amount of active users (125+). We've got a good understanding of vB and how to adjust for it, but we're definitely also forum agnostic (I use IPB on our company forums, and have customers coming in with phpBB boards).

I am missing a little bit of info there :) That page kind of gives me the impression you have all those servers, security, etc. But it is from ThePlanet if I remember correctly?

I am with ASO also and have to agree with everything that has been said. Tim gives 1st class personal service and has helped me immensely so far.
I am yet to migrate to vB from phpBB2 but will be doing so very soon.
Have nothing but praise for ASO - I think what Tim offeres is the shape of things to come re webhosting deals, and I am also certain that ASO will be a phenominal success. I'll be with them all the way.

Just keep in mind that the average 'new' hosting provider lasts for a few years and has some hickups in the start and eventually .. either have success or not. :)
I personally rather stick with experienced and proven to the public they can, hosts.
Nevertheless, good luck and I hope you stay growing and improving :)

After suffering with pathetic service and support from one of the "more established/successful" providers, A Small Orange (http://www.asmallorange.com) is a great improvement.

...I personally rather stick with experienced and proven to the public they can, hosts. If everyone felt the same way, then NO new venture would ever succeed. What kind of a world would we be living in if everyone was not willing try something new because... it's new? It's good to be careful, yes, but once the due diligence is done, and we see nothing wrong, then go for it! When I get my vB license and software (soon as my eCheck clears -- Mon/Tues I hope!), I'm going straight to ASO. I could easily host my new site where I currently host my other sites, but ASO gives me a good feeling, and I'm going to give them the chance they deserve.
Sorry if it sounds like I'm scolding you for your opinion; that's not my intention at all. :) I just remember when I was starting out in the music business almost thirty years ago, and had to fight for a gig because I was new and unproven. I ended up being in demand for performances and recording work all over the U.S. and parts of Canada for twenty years until I retired from it in 1997. Of course, those who wouldn't give me a chance in the early days -- I was always "to busy" for them by the time they decided I was worth hiring. ;)

ViperHost is also rather new and not near the level of theplanet.com or other big sites, but it has been around quite stable and proven to the public they can handle what is required, whereas in the same period I have seen other come and go every 5 months.

Yeah, that is a bit misleading.

Yeah, that is a bit misleading.
Judging by the network page on the site that you linked to in your signature, you aren't one to talk.

Our network page clearly states we make use of datacenters that other companies run. We break down which datacenters we use (NAC, The Planet, etc).

Not to start any arguments here, but I'm not inclined to put much stock in the statements of a competitor anyway. I don't feel I was misled by ASO, as I did my homework, reading the information on their website, and visiting their forums; actions that anyone serious about their business should do. I'd be willing to bet that NOT making their ThePlanet affiliation plain as day was more an oversight than an attempt to mislead.
