An advertiser wants to advertise on my forum and he wants to have a credit card on file for me to charge every month. I usually only do checks but he doesn't want to use company check.

How do I go about charging his credit card each month? He doesn't want to do anything (no Paypal) but give me the number similar to like when you call Sears over the phone and give them your number and they charge, so what businesses/websites can I do this through.

Thanks!

Youll need to get a credit card processor service of some type.

I know that. I don't know how to get one though or even what company does it.

www.firstdata.com (http://www.firstdata.com)
www.paymentech.com (http://www.paymentech.com/)

If you have a Bank of America account, I think you can setup something with them temporarily and have them act as the credit card processor and accept payment.

Just be careful though.... get the guy's billing address, and zip code and keep it on file.

Make sure there is some sort of contract agreement to, signed by you and your advertiser because if he issues a chargeback, you are the one that's gonna get hurt.

He doesn't want to do any of the online services, only phone. :(

Maybe a 1-900 number?

He still needs an account with a credit card processort. Or setup such an account with your bank.

He doesn't want to sign up for some online account and have to do it himself. He wants me to have his credit card on file then me bill him every month.

You can charge someones credit card through Paypal without them having an account?

So my bank will do it for me? I have a local Credit Union though not a big type bank (Bank of America)

You would need to open a Business Account with your bank. It's pretty expensive, but yes that's a possibility.

I'd becareful. People who only want to do a phone order...well, be very very careful.

This might be a fraudulent transaction.

No it's a very large well established business.

Checked into my bank but the person who I talked to was of no help, pretty much said no go though.

As I said you'd need a Business Account and it's not an inexpensive option.

In australia to do this you need a merchant account with your bank.

Then you need to extend the merchant account to be able to use phone transactions - it isnt cheap as Steve said, they like to charge a monthly fee and a percentage on every transaction - they will take into account how many transactions and if it is very few, it will be a high percentage.

Authorizenet is set up that it will process automatically (through store transactions, interacting with the store/cc processor)

or...

the have a 'virtual terminal" to process cc transactions manually.
