Im not sure what is going on. I had installed 1.1.5 and everything was fine but I never got a chance to get it up (so it had never been used). So, I did a completely fresh install of v2.
I get this error on step 6.
There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.
An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.
We apologise for any inconvenience
What could be causeing this since I had no problem with 1.1.5?
Thanks,
-JRW

You will need to post the actual error message that was sent to the tech address for the gurus to be of any help.

The reason I asked is they made a change to the upgrade1.php for those on vservers (like me). I have still not gotten it to work either. Aplushopsting may have the same settings needed as vservers. The first line of upgrade1.php has a variable for vservers that is then set to 1. It appears to me as a similiar error in that you are losing your connection to the db.
In no way am I am expert as I can't even get the upgrade to work, but your error looks very similiar to the one I was receiving before I changed the value. Now I get another error (a parse error, waiting on a response in another thread.)

Thanks, keep me posted. I'm going to send an email to my host as they usually have any and all problems fixed within 10 or 15 mins.
Thanks,

Anyone have any other ideas? I have been in contact with my host and they don't see any problems.
