The way to do this is to edit the forumrules template directly.

I've created a new custom template named forumrules2. I want to use this instead of forumrules in the showthread template, so I changed the $forumrules to $forumrules2. This didn't work tho, so what do I have to do to make the $forumrules2 tag work?

i'm also trying to make a $footer_error template which is exactly the same as the footer template cept it doesnt have the $spacer_open...
anyway to get it to parse?

No, that's not what I want. I want to have two different forumrules templates for use in my custom style.
The question stands unansweared.
And why is your post above mine, who created this thread? o_O

The posts are out of order because there was a problem with the time on this server.
Using 'two different forumrules templates for use in my custom style' requires modifying the code. You can try asking over at vbulletin.org for help with this.

Aha. Well, I'll just do something else then.
Thanks.
