View Full Version : Major Templating Issues

I've been playing around with my 'demo' thing here and I like the forum but I'm having a really difficult time with the templating system. I understand the interface, but not what each 'part' of the template is supposed to do, based only on it's name. For exapmle, while I think I got FORUMHOME, the parts under it are labelled a bit vaguely. Here's one thing I want to do. Tweak it so that the row with the column headers on it is beneath the category line and collapse button. That's just one thing, but it'd be nice if there were someplace I could go and look up what X template part is used for. I like the way the cosforums.com site looks, and I want to do my own theme in an inspired-by way, with my own tweaks on top. If I can figure this stuff out, I'll buy it.

Thanks.

Thanks. A complete template reference is in the works. However what you want to do is already outlined step-by-step over at our styles and graphics community. You can reach this community by visiting www.vbulletintemplates.com (http://www.vbulletintemplates.org).

Much obliged, though I think your url was supposed to be .com??? Org didn't work. In any case, I'll read more on that site and see if things start to make more sense to me.

:)

Thanks

One final question, I registered there and found the "Cat in a box" thread. Based on the submitees home site community, it looks like what I want. The horrid thing is, I can't download it, even after registering. I may not have the funds for a couple of weeks to purchase a license, I"ll be getting the owned version, and I'd really like to see the code for it just to make sure it's what I want. Is there any chance at all of somebody here who can send me their FORUMHOME code ONLY? I don't need the whole thing. Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

I have an improved version of that template modification which will soon be released on this web site to vBulletin licensed members. It will split the categories from eachother like you describe.
