Could you post your config.php without the password?
Be sure the hostname you specified is correct as well as all other informations written.

I am having the same error messages. I am new to vBulletin and I'm pulling my hair out. What is going wrong here??

as PeF said above, this is usually a misconfiguration in you config.php file.

check to make sure you have the correct servername, dbname, dbusername and dbpassword.

beyond that, it might be that mySQL is not configured properly or your host hasn't set up your database account yet.
